Blown Film Extrusion & Bag Making
Blown film extrusion is the most demanding application for masterbatch dispersion. In thin films ranging from 12 to 50 microns (such as garbage bags, shopping t-shirt bags, and courier mailing envelopes), a single undispersed carbon agglomerate or titanium cluster can cause bubble ruptures, pinholes, or fish-eyes.
Recommended Formulation Parameters:
Uniform Bubble Expansion
Sub-micron pigment particles maintain constant melt tension at high blow-up ratios (BUR).
Rapid Mold Cavity Fill
Controlled Melt Flow Index (MFI) prevents weld-line discoloration and surface sink marks.
Plastic Injection & Blow Molding
In injection molding, fast cycle times and intricate mold geometries require masterbatches that melt instantly and disperse evenly through the screw stroke without causing thermal degradation, streaking, or warping in thick sections.
Recommended Formulation Parameters:
Pipes, Conduit & Profile Extrusion
HDPE corrugated drainage pipes, electrical cable conduits, and agricultural drip irrigation tubes are subjected to harsh outdoor UV exposure, ground pressure, and thermal expansion. Our masterbatches feature high-structure carbon black to build an effective UV-absorption network.
Recommended Formulation Parameters:
Smooth Bore & Corrugated Tubing
Compatible with vacuum calibration tanks for mirror-smooth inner pipe wall extrusion.
Upgrading Recycled Regrind
Turn off-spec mixed color regrind (grey, brown, green) into uniform, deep black saleable products with high color intensity.
Recycled Plastics Compounding & Upcycling
In Southeast Asia and Africa, plastic reprocessors and recyclers handle large volumes of post-consumer scrap. These regrinds frequently suffer from color variability, contamination, and fluctuating melt indices.
Our Recycled Masking Grade Black Masterbatch is specifically formulated with high tinting strength furnace black and flow-enhancing processing aids. It completely neutralizes underlying scrap hues at only 1.5% to 3.0% dosage, allowing you to produce smooth, high-value black pellets, trash bags, or utility injection parts.
Carrier Resin & Base Polymer Compatibility Matrix
Ensuring the masterbatch carrier is thermodynamically compatible with your target resin prevents delamination, brittleness, and optical clouding.
| Target Polymer / Base Resin | PE Carrier Masterbatch | PP Carrier Masterbatch | Universal Modified Carrier | Key Processing Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) | Excellent (Primary) | Limited (Brittleness) | Good | Ideal for thin blown films and shrink packaging. |
| LLDPE (Linear Low Density) | Excellent (Primary) | Limited | Good | High puncture resistance for shopping bags and stretch wrap. |
| HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) | Excellent (Primary) | Moderate | Good | Used for grocery t-shirt bags, crates, and drainage pipes. |
| PP Homopolymer / Copolymer | Moderate (Check Dosage) | Excellent (Primary) | Good | Essential for injection molded caps, woven sacks, and containers. |
| Recycled PE / PP Blends | Good (High Flow PE) | Good | Excellent (Primary) | Modified universal carrier facilitates blending between mismatched fractions. |
| EVA / Ethylene Copolymers | Good (Low-Melt PE) | Poor | Good | Agricultural greenhouse films and foam injection molding. |
